Natasha Kyssa is a successful entrepreneur and author living in Ottawa, Canada. Her Canadian bestsellers The SimplyRaw Kitchen and The SimplyRaw Living Foods Detox Manual are endorsed by Mariel Hemingway, Dr. Neal Bernard and Bif Naked. Her books have become how-to guides for anyone interested in leading a healthier lifestyle through a plant-based, raw-friendly lifestyle.
She has been leading detoxification and cleansing programs since 1991, working with people from all over the world. Natasha also teaches Life in the Kitchen Food workshops helping people improve their health, one meal at a time. She owns and operates SimplyRaw Express, a raw vegan juice and takeaway shop in Ottawa.
Considered a pioneer in the raw, vegan movement, Natasha has been living and promoting a raw vegan lifestyle for over 25 years. She is a popular speaker at many health related events, on television, and at conferences and workshops including TEDxOttawa.
Raised by two very traditional European parents (Austrian mother, Moldavian father), Natasha grew up on a natural, unrefined diet. Her mother taught her the benefits of wholesome foods and entrepreneurship when she herself opened and operated the first vegetarian tea room in Ottawa. Following her mother’s guidance, Natasha raised her son, now a young man, on a plant-based diet.
In 1990, Natasha became inspired by the teachings of Paavo Airola, Ann Wigmore and Victoras Kulvinskas, and quickly adopted a raw lifestyle. This new way of living was not only instrumental in her recovery from a number of illnesses suffered while working as a professional model, it ultimately transformed her entire life. She went on to study the benefits of raw nutrition at the Ann Wigmore Institute (which she still visits frequently), the Hippocrates Health Institute, Optimum Health Institute, The Gerson Institute, Living Light Culinary Arts Institute, and others around the world. Natasha also studied darkfield live cell microscopy and has counseled many clients on the Arise & Shine Clean Me Out Colon Cleanse and other cleansing/detoxification programs after studying with Dr. Richard Anderson in 1995.
Working with clients world-wide, Natasha is committed to integrating healthy principles into mainstream lifestyles, and is passionate about inspiring others to make practical changes that will enrich their lives. Through her own personal experience she recognizes that natural healing is the best way to repair the damage an unhealthy environment and improper food choices have inflicted on us. Her reward; the many inspirational transformations she has witnessed through her students and clients.
At the age of 54, Natasha continues to reap the rewards of her healthy choices and enjoys a very balanced yet active lifestyle. She participates daily in one of her many passions including long distance running, road cycling, rock climbing, hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing.
