Natasha Kyssa is the author of Canadian bestseller The SimplyRaw Living Foods Detox Manual and founder of SimplyRaw. She also co-owns SimplyRaw Express, a raw vegan juice bar & takeaway in Ottawa, Canada.
A health pioneer and TEDxOttawa speaker, Natasha has been living a raw vegan lifestyle for 21 years and is regularly featured in the media. She has been facilitating detoxification and cleansing programs since 1991, working with people from all over the world. Natasha also teaches Life in the Kitchen Food workshops helping people improve their health, one meal at a time.
Raised by two very traditional European parents (Austrian mother, Moldavian father), Natasha grew up on a natural, unrefined diet. She learned about the benefits of wholesome foods from her mother who ran The Pantry, a vegetarian tea room. In her mid twenties, Natasha’s career as an international model was launched, propelling her to a fast paced, jet-setting lifestyle, globe trotting between Canada, Europe, the U.S., Japan, Hong Kong, and South East Asia. After eight successful years in front of the camera, Natasha grew weary of the glamorous fashion scene to return home.
In 1990, she was inspired by the teachings of Paavo Airola, Ann Wigmore and Victoras Kulvinskas, and quickly adopted a raw lifestyle which helped her recover from clinical depression, and anorexia and bulimia. Her life was completely transformed and she has since studied at various Institutes including the Ann Wigmore Institute (which she still visits frequently), the Hippocrates Health Institute, Optimum Health Institute, The Gerson Institute, Living Light Culinary Arts Institute, as well as other well-known organizations around the world. Natasha also studied darkfield live cell microscopy and has counseled many clients on the Arise & Shine Clean Me Out Colon Cleanse and other cleansing/detoxification programs after studying with Dr. Richard Anderson in 1995.
Natasha is committed to integrating healthy principles into mainstream lifestyles, and is passionate about inspiring others to make practical changes that will enrich their lives. She believes that we can heal ourselves naturally to mend the damage done to our bodies due to unhealthy environment and improper food choices, and enjoys helping people experience increased health. She continues to be rewarded by the many inspirational transformations that her programs brings to people’s lives.
At 52 years of age, Natasha leads a healthy, balanced and active lifestyle participating regularly in long distance running, rock climbing, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, yoga and cycling. She lives in Ottawa with her husband Mark and son, Mischa.
